Fire-hit shops demolished as police probe continues

Demolition work has started on a row of shops destroyed in a fire attack last month.

A car was driven into one of the retail units at Inverness' Fairways Business Park before being set on fire just before midnight on Saturday 8 March.

A man wearing a balaclava was seen running from the scene.

Police Scotland said it was continuing to investigate the incident.

Four of the site's five units were occupied by businesses - a fish shop, travel agents, bakers, barbers and hairdressers.

There was some damage to the entrance of an indoor go-kart raceway behind the shops.

Following the attack, police asked the public for any footage of the Skoda Octavia car involved on the nearby Sir Walter Scott Drive and from Druid Temple, a housing estate close to the business park.
