Woman dies and children injured in house fire

A 27-year-old woman has died and two children are in hospital following a house fire.
The woman died at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle at 22:10 BST on Thursday, according to Cumbria Police.
She was taken to the hospital from the scene of the fire in Cant Crescent, Carlisle, on Monday.
The two children, aged three and four, remain at the RVI where their condition is described as stable.
Police said officers had carried out a joint investigation with Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and initial findings suggested there were no suspicious circumstances.
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
