Rothesay County Championship Division Two, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff (day one)
Glamorgan 336-6 (96 overs): Ingram 80*, Northeast 63, Tribe 58; Reece 2-33, Dal 2-41
Derbyshire: Yet to bat
Glamorgan 2 pts, Derbyshire 2 pts
Glamorgan battled their way to a solid 336-6 after being put in to bat by Derbyshire, with Asa Tribe, Sam Northeast and Colin Ingram all making half-centuries.
It was a hard-fought but rarely spectacular day's play, with only Tribe (58) able to get the run-rate going.
Northeast's 63 was a careful effort, while the usually aggressive Ingram was dropped twice on his way to a restrained 80 not out.
Luis Reece and Anuj Dal claimed two wickets each, while Kiwi paceman Blair Tickner caused problems all day.
It was a welcome positive start for Glamorgan after three tough matches, while Derbyshire's bowlers worked hard in the sun despite losing Reece to injury.

University student and Jersey international Tribe, playing his first match of the season in place of Eddie Byrom, drove classically in a perky half-century.
It came off just 65 balls including 10 fours, his third successive half-century in first-class cricket after finishing 2024 well.
Tickner was the tightest of the Derbyshire seamers, bowling to the grassier end of the pitch, but it was Reece who did the damage in his second spell as Ul Hassan top-edged a pull to mid-wicket for 32 after a stand of 93 and Tribe drove down the wrong line.
Reece then limped off for the second match running, this time with a hamstring problem which will prevent him bowling again in the game.
The third-wicket pair of Northeast and Kiran Carlson started serenely after lunch, their concentration not broken by a pair of amorous gulls on the outfield behind the bowler's arm.
But Zak Chappell's short ball ended a stand of 60 when Carlson (35) hooked to fine leg.
The experienced Northeast and Ingram were content to accumulate either side of tea as they added 88.
Ingram struck hard-working spinner Alex Thomson for a straight six but was dropped at cover when he tried to repeat the dose, reining in his instincts after that.
Dal, who replaced spinner Jack Morley in the visitors' XI, eventually induced a rare error from Northeast who fell lbw after looking in control but hitting just five fours.
The fact that Ingram's 50 came up off 103 balls showed the difficulty batters had in forcing the pace.
The second new ball brought rewards for Derbyshire as Tickner won an lbw shout against Ben Kellaway (22), before Dal had Chris Cooke caught behind for six.
Ingram survived a difficult chance to slip off Zak Chappell on 70, and Timm van der Gugten kept him company to the close as Glamorgan retained hopes of passing 400 for the first time in 2025.
Glamorgan's Asa Tribe told BBC Sport Wales:
"I felt good though I left a few out there today but it was a nice start for sure.
"I felt in a good spot with some runs in last year's games, but opportunities don't always come straightaway or when you want. I'm happy now I've got the confidence of the captain and coach and I need to perform.
"It's a good cricket wicket that offered a bit to the bowlers when they hit the right lengths, but it came on to the bat and you were able to score when they didn't.
"It's extremely busy with university as well, the next few weeks are going to be quite hectic with assignments that need doing but when I get my opportunities here I'm ready to take those."
Derbyshire's Anuj Dal told BBC Radio Derby:
"We looked at the wicket and thought potentially it was going to do more than it actually did, but with hindsight we wouldn't have done anything different at the toss.
"We started poorly in the first session but dragged it back nicely to get six down at the close though the ball went soft quickly and out of shape.
"It's going to be a nice wicket to bat on so it's an opportune time to cash in, in our first innings.
"Reecey has been pivotal for us in the last four games, so (his injury) is such a shame. I missed the last game so I'm happy to get some more overs in."
