From award-winning investigations and drama to cutting-edge documentaries and events coverage, BBC Scotland reflected Scotland in all its rich diversity across 2015/16.

The RTS award-winning Reporting Scotland attracted an average early evening audience of 500,000.  Coverage of the 2015 General Election and the 2016 Scottish Parliamentary Election was informed and authoritative and our investigations team covered subjects as diverse as illegal puppy farming, the Glasgow bin lorry tragedy and serious allegations of doping in world athletics.

A third series of Ann Cleeves’ acclaimed crime thriller, Shetland, drew an average network audience of 5.8million across its six parts and River City continued to be the most appreciated ‘soap’ in Scotland.

A rich and varied crop of programmes included the four-part Story of Scottish Art, the much acclaimed 12-part This Farming Life, for BBC Two and Mrs Brown’s Boys which, once again, was at the heart of the BBC’s Festive TV schedule.

BBC One Saturday night Lottery show favourites Who Dares WinsIn It To Win It and Win Your Wish List were all shot at BBC Scotland’s headquarters in Glasgow.

BBC ALBA retained its loyal audience, with around 665,000 viewers each week, and Katie Morag won a prestigious US Peabody Award.
