It provides an advisory function for the Executive Committee, in particular to consider the challenges facing the BBC from the perspective of younger audiences.
The committee meets each month (excluding August) and twice a year meets with the BBC Board. The committee is sponsored by a member of the Executive Committee.
Members are selected from across the BBC following an open selection process. Membership is usually for 12 months.
