Try these Manchester United football challenges at home

Part of Parents' Toolkit

Try our five football challenges for parents and children, from the Manchester United Foundation.

In partnership with Premier League Primary Stars.

Here are the instructions for you and your child.

1. Passing accuracy

For this challenge you'll need two footballs. The task is simple - kick one ball against another from a distance! Get competitive with siblings or friends, or do it against the clock - how many times can you hit the ball in the middle in 60 seconds?

2. Keep-ups 7

Have you mastered keep-ups? Try this one - foot, foot, knee, knee, shoulder, shoulder, head! This'll keep you busy.

For an inclusive, adapted version of the keep-up 7, try the video below…

3. Pass and move

To learn these fundamental moves, all you'll need is a football and some 'cones' (these can be anything - old t-shirts for example). Pass the ball and move between the cones - it gets trickier each time!

4. Football bowling

You're going to need all the footballs you can get your hands on for this one, so you might need to get other people involved too. Or, you can use plastic bottles (weight them down with a few pebbles or copper coins to stop them blowing over).

Once you've got your balls or bottles set up in a triangle, either kick or roll the ball towards them and see how many you can knock over. Remember to record the scores!

5. Keep-ups square

Set four cones or jumpers in a nice big square. The challenge is to juggle the ball while moving across and around it. It's not easy!

Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.

Manchester United Foundation is the associated charity of Manchester United F.C., using football to inspire and engage young people.
