The children are visiting a shop to buy some new trainers. How many different ways do you think there are for them to pay?
Spending spree!
Josh and Aria are in a sports shop looking at the selection of sporting items.
Time for a spending spree.
Aria picks up a pair of trainers and looks at the price tag.
Wow that’s a good price, or is it?
Josh holds up another pair of trainers with a lower price tag.
If you want to buy something, you’re going to need money.
Aria pulls out some money and hands it over to the cashier.
There are lots of ways to spend money. But really, they’re all the same.
Lots of money fills the screen.
Let’s say I had one hundred pounds. Woah I wish!
I could put that money in a bank. Then my bank account would have one hundred pounds in it.
I can ask the bank to give me some of my money in cash.
A cashier is counting money, they have notes and coins on their desk.
Ten pounds please. That’s a Ten-pound note.
The cashier hands a ten-pound note to Aria.
Pounds are the currency we use in the UK.
I could also just use a card to spend money. Or even use cash
Even small amounts add up and can be really expensive. Such as in games.
But it’s all real money. And when you spend it, it’s gone forever!
The bank account decreases as purchases are made.
The teacher appears dressed ready for a holiday. With a rubber ring round their waist, suitcase and tickets in hand.
You can also use money for services, like a flight for a holiday. Have fun!
