There are many different shapes all around you, like circles, squares and triangles!
Grab your pencil and paper, watch the video and try drawing different shapes.
Hi.
From a house, to a hippo…
Anything that we draw is made up of shapes.
So let's draw some.
First, let's hold our pencil in a tripod grip.
Point, pencil, pinch.
This can help control your pencil, but if it’s too tricky, don’t worry. Do what feels comfortable for you.
Now with your pencil let's draw a circle.
Draw one curved line all the way around until you come back to where you started.
Amazing, now you have a circle.
Now, let’s try a square.
A shape with four equal sides and four corners.
First draw a line straight up.
At the end of that line, draw another line in the same length straight across.
Now, draw one straight down.
Finally, draw one more line across the bottom to finish your square.
Taddaaa!
Now, let’s do a triangle with three sides.
First, draw a straight line across the bottom.
At one end of the line, draw a diagonal line going up like a mountain.
Diagonal lines can be tricky so just try your best.
After all, it is called a try-angle.
Okay, lets draw another diagonal line down the other side.
And you're done.If you had fun drawing these shapes, why not try drawing some ovals or some rectangles?
Or any shape you like…
And don’t worry if it’s not perfect. Just have fun and have a go.
