What do different signs mean?
We can see signs everywhere. They are on the streets, by the sea, in the country and in buildings. They tell us different things.
The children are walking in the woods with Jeanie. Will they be able to use a sign to find the lake?
The kids are out in a forest on a walk with Patrick's Mum. They’re walking along a trail.
NARRATOR: The gang are all out on a walk together. Up ahead there’s a sign. I wonder can they work out what it’s telling them?
PATRICK: When are we going to get to the lake mum? I’m tired and I want to see the ducks!
PATRICK'S MUM: Soon Patrick! Look there’s a sign, can anyone work out which way we should go?
They’re at a fork in the road. There are two signs, one pointing one way, one the other. The route to the right has a sign that looks like a steep incline. The left has water and a fish on it.
BETH: Hmmm. It looks like there’s two paths we can take.
KIM: That one looks like a biiiiig mountain!
PATRICK: And that one looks like a lake! So that means… this way!
NARRATOR: The kids are right, this sign is pointing to a mountain. And this sign is pointing to a lake.

NARRATOR: Signs are all around us. They can help with loads of things! They can point us in the right direction, tell us things we need to know, or warn us of something dangerous.
The kids have arrived at the lake.
PATRICK: This is great! Look at all those ducks!
KIM: We finallly made it.
Patrick goes from looking really happy to looking very worried.
PATRICK’S MUM: Is everything ok Patrick?
PATRICK: I think I need the loo!
PATRICK'S MUM: Can anyone find a sign for a toilet? This seems urgent!
The kids all look around. Beth points into the distance at a hut with a toilet sign above it.
BETH: I can see the sign! Over there! Over there Patrick!
PATRICK: Phew! See you later.
Patrick goes into the hut. Everyone else laughs and goes back to looking out at the lake.
