You can make a collage using things we find outside in nature.
Why not look for fallen leaves and twigs to use in your picture?
Hiya! I really like snails. Why don’t we make a collage of a snail shell?
We're going to make our collage out of what we find outside.
So first, you can look for materials in your local park, your garden or even a forest. The search is half the fun. Ask a grown up what’s safe to pick up.
There are lots of things you can use, like twigs and bark, or leaves. That’s what I found.
Remember to wash your hands when you come inside. Then get a glue stick, a pencil, a piece of paper and your outdoor finds.
Snail shells have an interesting swirl pattern, so let's start by drawing that. If you have trouble, ask an adult for help.
Now we are ready to add our natural materials. Add glue along one part of the swirl. Then stick something you found to your picture. If it's big like a leaf, you can rip it up into smaller pieces first.
Keep going until you have finished that part. Now, add more glue and add more and more bits and keep going until it’s all covered.
All finished. What a lovely looking shell. Any snail would be happy to call it home.
Woohoo.
I hope you had as much fun exploring and collaging as I did. Next time you’re outside, you can look for more materials for your next picture. Enjoy.
