NARRATOR: Hello! Today we are learning about the 'Annunciation'!
ALICE: The Annunci … what now?
A heavenly light shines on the children.
OISIN: Wow, who is that floating over there? Are those wings?
NARRATOR: That’s the Angel Gabriel. In the Bible, the Angel Gabriel appeared to a woman called Mary as she slept. The angel said *"Do not be afraid. I am Gabriel. God has chosen you for His special task." *
We see Gabriel speaking to Mary as she kneels down.
ALICE: What did he ask Mary to do?
NARRATOR: The Bible says that the angel told Mary she would have a baby who would be known as 'The Son of God', and his name would be Jesus. The angel told her that Jesus would do great things for people and the world. This is what Christians call the Annunciation.
OISIN: That’s a big request!
NARRATOR: Yes and it was a very important one! Mary agreed to follow God’s plan and do this special task. She said “I am the Lord’s servant, may Your word to me be fulfilled."
The Angel Gabriel visits Mary
One day an angel called Gabriel went to visit Mary to tell her some important news.
Angel Gabriel told Mary that she was going to have a very special baby called Jesus.
Jesus was going to fill the world with love and joy because he was God’s Son. This is known as the Annunciation.
