Why is dead wood important?

Creatures, such as woodlice, spiders, snails and worms, make their homes in dead wood.

They use it to keep dry and hide from animals that might try to eat them.

Bigger animals, like hedgehogs, also like dead wood.

They can use it to keep warm and find bugs to eat.
