Plants and their uses
Propagating and growing plants
Plants can be grown in large numbers by germinating seeds, or by growing bulbs or tubers. Cuttings can be taken from existing plants, and can be grafted onto the stock of another plant.
Commercial use of plants
Humans make use of plants for food, for raw materials and as a source of medicines. Modern biotechnology techniques have allowed the production of new species with previously unknown characteristics.
