Book badge | Blue Peter
Do you love books and reading? If you do, this is the badge for you! To earn this badge all you need to do is tell us about a book you've enjoyed reading recently and draw a character or scene from the book. We'd also love to hear about any books that have sparked your imagination. So, what are you waiting for? Pick up a book, explore your school library, or become a member of your local library and you could be on your way to earning your very own Book badge! 📚

Blue Peter Book badge application
To earn this badge, you must:
Be aged between 5-15 years old.
Ask your parent or guardian to set up a BBC child account so you can use My Blue Peter. Please remember your username and password, as you’ll need these to log in and request your ID card, once your badge has been issued. Please note: Each child applying for a badge via My Blue Peter need their own individual log in, for example a family with two children, will need two BBC child accounts for each child, so we can log their badges individually.
Ask your parent or guardian for permission to apply and ask them to read the Privacy Notice.
Get your parent or guardian to help you fill out your form and personal details.
Tell us about a book you have read and what you think about it. Maybe you liked the characters, or perhaps you enjoyed going on exciting adventures in faraway places.
Upload your illustration of a character or a scene from the story. This could be a drawing, painting or even digital artwork.
Let us know what other books and authors you have enjoyed reading and why.
Please be patient, thousands of children apply for badges each year and it can take up to 12 weeks for your badge to arrive.
Who designed the Book badge?
The Book badge was designed by one of the UK’s best-known illustrators, Sir Quentin Blake – who you might know from bringing to life characters such as Roald Dahl's BFG and Matilda.

The Book badge is open for online applications only via My Blue Peter, which means applications can no longer be sent together in one envelope.
