Jersey Repair Cafe said its new "tech help desk" helps the elderly understand their technology

A cafe in Jersey said it was branching out from fixing broken technology to helping islanders who were struggling to use the devices in the first place.
Jersey Repair Cafe said the community initiative has been running since 2020 and had about 80 volunteers who helped mend broken items.
Organiser Simon Langlois said its events featured live music, cups of tea and now a free "tech help desk".
He said: "We often get family members who try to help and it gets quite stressful because there's a lack of patience on both sides."
'Patient and understanding'
He said: "By having us there as a helping advice desk, we are patient and we are understanding of the fact that technology is not that easy to understand, especially as you get older."
Volunteers started the new service at St Ouen Parish Hall on Saturday.
