An investigation into the cause of a fire in the roof space above a row of terraced shops in Derby has failed to detect what started it.

Six fire crews and support units were called to the fire in Brackens Lane, Alvaston, at 13:13 BST on Monday.

People living in the area were advised to keep their doors and windows closed while firefighters tackled the blaze, which was brought under control at about 17:15.

On Tuesday, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said a joint police and fire investigation into the blaze concluded the cause was "undeterminable".
