Martin Lewis on why time is running out to claw back £10,000s on your state pension

Martin Lewis says the deadline the buy back any missing years of National Insurance contributions is approaching.

He’s urged people to check their National Insurance contributions between 2006 – 2019 and look at whether their years are “in full”.

Speaking to 5 Live’s Adrian Chiles, Martin said: “This is all about the new state pension which started in April 2016.”

“The years between 2006 and 2019 - this is your last opportunity. If you haven’t got them and you need them and you have to buy them… Otherwise, you lose that opportunity.”

“13 years can be equal… to about £100,000…. hence the importance of the urgency of this deadline.”
