Blues' points record 'will never be beaten' - Davies

Davies has guided Birmingham to the League One title in his first season as a manager

Birmingham City boss Chris Davies believes his League One title-winning side's record points tally for the division will never be broken.
Blues, who were crowned champions with six games remaining, hammered Mansfield Town 4-0 in their final home game on Sunday to overtake Wolves' total of 103 in the third tier from 11 years ago.
They have now accumulated 105 points from 44 games and could surpass the overall EFL record of 106, set by Reading in the 2005-06 Championship season, when they travel to Blackpool on Wednesday.
"For all the people that thought it was going to be easy for Birmingham, you can never take away from this group of players what they've done," Davies told BBC Radio WM.
"They've achieved history and I've said to them I don't think that'll ever be beaten. To beat Wolves' record and get 105 points in a season is an incredible achievement.

"Full credit to everyone, players and staff for what they've done. They've given so much and they deserve to have an occasion like this."
As well as celebrating their title triumph, Sunday's game was also an opportunity for the St Andrew's faithful to bid farewell to long-serving forward Lukas Jutkiewicz, who is retiring after nine years with the club.
The 36-year-old, who replaced Kieran Dowell for the final 20 minutes against Mansfield, has scored 69 goals in 357 appearances for Blues and will fill an as yet unspecified role with the club next season.
"When I came to the club I was confident I would do well because I'd learned a few things along the way," Davies added. "One of the things I'd learned was you need good senior players to have a chance.
"I'd heard about Lukas, but in my first job as a manager I couldn't wish for a better senior player to be in there every day setting an example. He's been amazing and I'm so glad he's sticking around at the club."
