Physical Education GCSE: What does it take to be a pro BMX racer?

We join Tre Whyte at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester for a training session on the BMX track and weightlifting in the gym.

Tre’s coach explains how his natural talent has set him apart from other races but also describes the requirement for strength and conditioning training.

The focus of Tre’s training is to develop maximal strength and power to achieve the fastest gate release possible.

Using the principles of training he uses high weight with low repetitions to develop his power output.
