Plastic or paper cups are great for playtime.
Talk to your baby while stacking the cups and let your baby knock them down.
Doing this a few times shows your baby how to take turns and is great for their hand-eye coordination.
Older babies can have a go at stacking the cups all by themselves!
Your baby could try tapping or hitting the cup.
This will strengthen their hand and arm muscles as they explore sounds and rhythms.
Everybody loves a party! Join your baby and some teddies for a tea party.
- So nice!
Make happy "mmm" and sipping sounds.
- Yay!
Keep talking, and introduce your baby to new words.
The Baby Club’s Nigel Clarke encourages parents and carers to explore plastic and paper cups with babies.
Whether you're tapping out a rhythm or building and knocking over stacks, cups can be great fun for you and baby.
