Tranmere Rovers edged closer to preserving their Football League status courtesy of a 0-0 draw at Barrow.
The result left Rovers four points above second-bottom Carlisle United, whose own survival hopes hang by a thread after a 1-1 draw at Accrington Stanley, with two games to go.
Tranmere were seeking to avoid the chance of any late-season heartbreak by taking all three points, but just could not find the breakthrough.
