Wales has a wealth of wildlife, some of which are endemic to our small country, such as the Skomer Vole and Fen Orchid.

Manx shearwater
With roughly 45,000 breeding pairs, Wales has the largest concentration of these birds, anywhere in the world.

Skomer Island
Skomer Island off Pembrokeshire has the most spectacular sea bird colonies in Southern Britain.
Underwater Skomer

Red kite
This once endangered bird is now a common sight in Wales thanks to a successful breeding programme.
Osprey
Wales now has two breeding osprey sites at Glaslyn in North Wales and the Dyfi Estuary in Ceredigion.
