Question words
It's important to recognise question words when you are reading different texts, including surveys and questionnaires. You will also need to answer questions in German.
Remember - the clue is in the question:
- warum? - why? (so you look for an opinion)
- wie viel? - how many? (so you look for a number)
- wo? - where? (so you look for a place)
- mit wem? - with whom? (so you look for a person)
- seit wann? - for how long? - literally: since when - (so you look for a date or time)
Tag der offenen Tür, which literally means 'day of the open door', is a day when local businesses, sports centres, universities and other public buildings open their doors to the public to show everyone what they offer.
