Customers are important to a business as they are the people who buy and use the goods or services it provides. Satisfying the needs and wants of customers is important to businesses operating in all sectors of the economy.

If customers are not satisfied with the business they will stop buying or using its products, resulting in the business failing to achieve its objectives - eg profit.

Customer satisfaction relies on good customer service. Customer service is the service a consumer receives before, during and after they have used or purchased a good or a service.
