Is time travel scientifically possible?
Time slows down measurably the faster you travel. Some scientists believe certain sub-atomic particles may travel back in time.
But if time travel became possible for humans it could create deep paradoxes, like meeting your younger or older self.
Should we ban research into it before it’s too late?
Did you know?
According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, the faster anything travels, the slower time passes, an effect called time dilation.

Watch a short intro to the debate: should we look into time travel?
Discuss
Controversial issues in science make for great discussion topics. The following video shows students your age expressing a range of opinions about whether or not research into time travel should be banned. Get together with your friends and discuss the issue!
Listen to secondary students debating the issue and join in the debate. What do you and your friends think?

Clocks on the International Space Station, actually run 0.014 seconds slower each year than the same clocks on earth because of time dilation.
Decide
