We can all make body sounds using different parts of our bodies like our hands, feet, legs and fingers.
When Bella’s headphones die, she and Harry recreate her favourite song using body sounds.
Can you spot all the different noises Bella and Harry make using their bodies?
INTERIOR RESTAURANT KITCHEN - EVENING - Bella hums happily as she stands grating a large block of cheese. She is wearing wireless bluetooth headphones and is completely unaware of her surroundings, totally in the music. We hear the song she is listening to, it is Italian bossa nova.
Suddenly we hear a bleep from Bella's headphones as the battery dies. She takes out one of her in-ear headphones. She examines it, the battery is dead.
BELLA: (to the headphones) Ay ay ay ay ay! Not again! I only charged you last…
Bella counts on her fingers, working out how many days it has been.
BELLA: Month!
Harry enters, holding a tray of dirty dishes. He sees that something's up with Bella.
HARRY: (chirpily) Still enjoying your Italian musica, chef Bella?
BELLA: (dejected) No, my headphones died. Ahh I was listening to my favourite song, it inspires me to cook. What am I going to do?
Bella, visibly sad, looks down feeling sorry for herself.
HARRY: What does the song sound like?
BELLA: Oh it's a WONDERFUL song, with the most exciting drum beat, like this…
Bella sings the rhythm from the song, stomping her feet.
BELLA: Ba pa-ba ba ba!
HARRY: (lighting up) Maybe you don't need to hear the song to be inspired by it, maybe you can hear it by making body sounds, like you did with your feet!
BELLA: (slightly confused) Body sounds?
HARRY: Yes! You can stomp your feet and… Well, what does the rest of the song sound like?
BELLA: Hmmm, it goes something like…
Considering for a moment, Bella stomps the 'one-and-a' rhythm followed by clapping her hands for the 'two' beat - so the pattern is: 'oneand-a-two'.
HARRY: Ah, yes! I know this one!
BELLA: (nodding while still tapping the beat) Ah sì! (singing partly in Italian) Batti piedi, stomp your feet!
Harry and Bella both do the rhythm pattern together, getting more dramatic as they go on and marching along to the beat…
BELLA: (singing in Italian) Spolvero le mani!
HARRY: (singing) Dust your hands!
They both dust their hands to the rhythm.
BELLA: (singing partly in Italian) Batti le mani! Clap your hands!
They both clap their hands to the beat.
BELLA: (singing in Italian) Clicka le dita!
HARRY: (singing) Click your fingers!
The both click their fingers to the beat.
BELLA: (singing partly in Italian) Muovi il tuo corpo, move your body!
They both dance as the music gets louder and faster.
Suddenly the service bell rings and Harry and Bella look at each other, realising they have work to do.
HARRY: Ohh… I guess we should get back to work…
BELLA: (smiling) Well, thank you Harry - you showed me how to bring my song to life without the headphones!
