How to divide using the array method

Division is used when sharing a number into another number. Division is the opposite of multiplying.
The array method uses a rectangular grid for multiplication and division.
Division can be used when splitting out the cost of a bill/item between people.

STEP 1: Circle the key information and draw a rectangle. This is your array.

STEP 2: Label the height with the number you are dividing by. Write the number you are dividing into in the rectangle.

STEP 3: Think of a simple multiple of 3 that is easy to calculate and close to 50. Let's take 3 x 10 = 30.
