Halifax cemented their play-off place thanks to a 1-0 win over relegation battlers Braintree at The Shay.

Both sides had chances in the first half. Halifax forward Daniel Nkrumah raced through on goal, but his shot was saved by Braintree keeper Henry Gray.

Kyrell Lisbie broke into the Halifax box and squared towards Tom Blackwell, but Halifax goalkeeper Toby Savin got a touch to take the ball away.

Halifax eventually made the breakthrough with just six minutes left when defender Adam Senior slotted in after his initial effort had been saved.

Fax can now look forward to the play-offs, while Braintree's survival hopes roll on to the last day.
