RICHARD: Tell me, what’s the idea?
ABIGAIL: Err, so basically Flywings is a new concept for a brand that’s specialising in gourmet chicken wings…
RICHARD: Uh huh.
ABIGAIL: …That are either grilled or smoked or barbecued…
RICHARD: Uh huh.
ABIGAIL: …and basically we glaze each wing in one of our specially formulated sauces.
RICHARD: Yeah
ABIGAIL: So all our sauces are culturally inspired.
RICHARD: Yeah.
ABIGAIL: ‘Cause we’re basically trying to infuse as much culture as into one brand as possible.
RICHARD: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
ABIGAIL: So that people can come to one place and try out more than one thing.
RICHARD: Yeah.
ABIGAIL: And…yeah!
OTHER MAN: Let me try one of those while we’re here. You’ve got to dig in there. You gotta dig in.
RICHARD: It’s a brilliant name by the way, absolutely love the name.
ABIGAIL: Thank you.
RICHARD: What’s the business model? Are you a outlet that’s selling them? Are you, the idea is you’re gonna get supermarkets to sell them for you?
JANINE: The idea initially was, we wanted to cater to different events and then we wanna have a market stall as well.
RICHARD: Yeah okay.
ABIGAIL: Initially we wanna start as a delivery service.
RICHARD: Right.
ABIGAIL: And then hopefully get a restaurant in Loughborough, we’re both from Loughborough, and then eventually start a chain of restaurants all across the whole of the UK and also start concessions.
RICHARD: I’ll say what I think straight right? Great name, but I think I need you to know what it is that you want your business to be. Do you wanna be a delivery business, do you wanna be a café? I can’t just give the money ‘til I’ve got a sense of what I’m putting the money in to.
ABIGAIL: Okay.
RICHARD: But that’s fine. We can talk later.
ABIGAIL: We just thought….
OTHER MAN: This is the beginning.
RICHARD: Yeah, this is a no for now and not forever, right?
ABIGAIL: Okay then, alright.
RICHARD: I think you’re on to something, but I think you’ve still got a way to go.
ABIGAIL: Okay, alright, well, thank you very much.
RICHARD: Keep in touch.
BOTH GIRLS: Thank you.
ABIGAIL: I think Richard wants to see us in the place right before we blow up ‘cause I think right now our business still has…we do have to actually build upon our brand a lot more and get to the stage where we’re actually ready, to actually branch out of Loughborough.
