Female shopper, brown hair, sunglasses, grey top: When I go shopping I always like to know how much I'm spending.
Rounding always helps me when I'm shopping.
For instance I've paid £1.10 for this sandwich and I could say £1.
Female shopper, brown hair, sunglasses, grey top: I've spend £1.99 on biscuits and that's £2.
Female shopper, brown hair, sunglasses, grey top: Again another sandwich cost me £1.90 and that's £2.
Female shopper, brown hair, sunglasses, grey top: It's much quicker for me to round up the prices as today I spent about £5.
Male chef, blond hair, white tunic: Today we are making the pavlova.
Male chef, blond hair, white tunic: This recipe is for 40, we actually have a function for 115 people.
I've rounded it up to 120 just in case we get more people or someone drops one and we need spare.
Male, dark hair, red top: Estimating is useful when you don't have to be exact.
I know that when I'm sowing grass seed 35g is required for one square metre.
Male, dark hair, red top: I don't have time to measure out 35g each time but experience has taught me that 35g is roughly a handful so that's what I use.
Rounding a number makes it easier to work with. This can be especially useful when dealing with decimals.
