  • Mae’r parti ar ______. – The party is on ______.
  • Pryd fydd y parti? – When will the party be?
  • Bydd y parti ar ______. – The party will be on ______.

Question

Do you remember the days of the week in Welsh? More importantly, in this context, do you remember the nights of the week in Welsh? Write the expressions on a piece of paper and then check your answers below.

If you wanted to discuss the actual time of the party, you could use the following:

  • Faint o’r gloch mae’r parti? – What time is the party?
  • Mae’r parti’n dechrau am ______. – The party starts at ______.
  • Mae’r parti’n gorffen am ______. – The party finishes at ______.
  • Mae’r parti o ______ tan ______. – The party is from ______ until ______.

  • Bydd y parti’n gorffen am ______. – The party will finish at ______.

There is always a soft mutation after o (from) and tan (until), eg:

  • Mae’r parti o (bump o’r gloch) tan (ddeg o’r gloch). – The party is from (five o’clock) until (ten o’clock).
  • Bydd y parti o (bump o’r gloch) tan (ddeg o’r gloch). – The party will be from (five o’clock) until (ten o’clock).
